Working Hunter & Show Horses
A great trip to Hickstead!
Justine enjoys a successful week at the Royal International
The week got underway with Justine riding Debbie Bremner's mare 'Is There More'in the Lightweight Hunter Championship to finish a creditable 11th place in an extremley strong line up. This was the first time Justine has ridden the mare in the ring. Justine was then 9th on Lord Litchfield in the Middleweight Hunter Championship.
Friday then saw the arrival of torrential rain just as the Working Hunter Championship started. Despite muddy ground and heavy rain, Justine jumped a lovely clear round on Pipers Ovation, going on to finished second in the Heavyweight Working Hunter. This was a very emotional moment for the team, as this was Titch's last ever occasion in the show ring, before retiring from top level competition to the hunting field.
With the opportunity to ride round the beautiful main ring in the Working Hunter Championship, Titch enjoyed showing off to all the spectators and went superbly. He was then called forward to stand Reserve Champion Working Hunter. This was a brilliant and memorable way to end what has been a great showing career for Pipers Ovation.
Justines good form then continued through to Saturday, when she rode Lowmoor High Flyer to second place in the Large Hacks. Flyte and Justine then contested the very strong Hack Championship, where Flyte was a real star taking everything his stride. A great result for the team in such good company at such a prestigious show.
On Saturday afternoon Victoria Myronidis and the 5year old Whalton Doyene were 6th in the Small PBA class.
